Utilization Management
Performs review activities as outlined by the peer review organization, Medicare, and third-party payers. The UM position assists medical staff in monitoring to ensure quality care and appropriate utilization of hospital services and compliance with length of stay regulations, patient admission, and continued stay. The position works to ensure compliance with external review regulations and works with physicians in preparing appeals when payment has been denied. Computer literacy, including the Microsoft Office suite is required.
