The LPN assists doctor with correspondence and phone calls.Responsibilities: 1. Prepares the patient for exams, x-rays, etc., and assists the doctor with basic medical procedures. Identifies basic signs and symptoms from the patient and provides this information to the physician.
2. Carries out physician orders. This position handles phone calls as directed by the physician such as calling in prescriptions and notifies patients of diagnostic testing results. The incumbent gives injections, does phlebotomy and completes other tasks appropriate to the position as prescribed by the physician.
3. Completes insurance forms, pre-authorizations, and referrals, as required by plan for physician review and signature.
4. The LPN is responsible for keeping the examination and treatment rooms clean and properly stocked with supplies.
5. Records patient information in chart as appropriate.
6. Performs waived lab procedures.
7. Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions.
