Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center is an upscale 148 bed Skilled Nursing Facility that prides itself in providing high quality Short Term Rehab services and excellent Nursing support services. Additionally the facility cares for Alzheimers and related dementias on its separately monitored Special Care Unit. We are licensed by the State of Connecticut and certified by Medicare, Medicaid, and many managed care companies.

We have earned a quality reputation with hundreds of satisfied customers and endorsements. Our staff are kind and attentive, and most respectful of the Patients we serve and their families. Our Medical and Nursing Administrative Team are professional and supportive. We pride ourselves on delivering care with a "Personal Touch". Many of our dedicated staff also take pride in their longevity and the care they render our Patients. Nonetheless, given the uniqueness of the area we still need a few good CNA's to round out our staffing requirements.

In recent years, our Ownership sponsored a major multimillion dollar renovation of the entire building. As a result the interior facilities are most attractive and create a positive upbeat environment for not only our customers, but for our workers too!

Skylights, bordered carpeting throughout hallways, oak mill-work, artwork, wall scones and other design elements create a softer non-institutional environment. The oak theme is carried into our Resident rooms with matching oak furniture and complimenting wallpaper and drapes. Our large Country Club-like Dining Room and several TV and sitting lounges provide Patients and their guests many social spaces to visit and socialize in. We host a wide range of therapeutic recreational programs and have ample space to accomodate one or more programs of any size. And our one story design provides therapeutic views of the outdoors, fresh air, and outdoor spaces for our Patients and visitors to enjoy.

Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center is proudly owned and operated by TransCon Builders - a financially secure private company whose goals are to provide high quality care in a quality environment. Our ownership also proudly owns and operates three (3) other quality Nursing and Rehab Centers and two (2) quality Assisted Living Facilities - all in fine Connecticut towns.

Our Location and Special Spot
From a care standpoint, we have excellent proximity - with New Milford Hospital about a mile down the road from us, and the Visiting Nurse Association and Doctor's offices within walking distance. Esthetically our special site is surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful trees and foilage - pleasant year round - but particularly in the change of seasons.

Not far away is the noted Lake Waramoug with its inns, restaurants, shops and boating, swimming, and fishing recreational activities. Also a local winery - on one Lake Waramoug hillsites - is fun spot to visit. Lake Waramoug is a favorite for overnight stays, weekend getaways or summer vacations. Candlewood Lake is also not far away.

We are located in the town of New Milford, CT. - which is bordered by towns of Washington, Sherman, Kent, Warren, Bridgewater, Brookfield, and Roxbury. New Milford is an interesting and growing community. It is still small enough where people are personable and friendly and housing is affordable. Yet it has grown to enable better consumer shopping and other life choices. Its town green is one of the largest and nicest in New England. The general area is eclectic and interesting - with antique shops, nurseries, and such notable spots as Skitch Henderson's gourmet shop, private schools such as Cantebury and the Gunnery, the famed Washinton Inn, and Litchfield County (a favorite for New Yorkers to visit.
