Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

Experience amazing opportunities and outstanding rewards with the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner provides inpatient care and outpatient care primarily to patients of the oncology physicians. The individual will participate as a member of a patient management team. Perform admission histories and physical exams. Conduct interim physical assessments of medical status (twice daily and as needed). Requires the capacity for intense minute by minute critical clinical decision making for very ill cancer patients and complex patient care. Provides patient education. Participates in patient/family interventions. Respond to medical emergencies as necessary. Conduct and facilitate discharge planning. Act as liaison between the medical staff, nursing staff, and patients. Ensures the appropriate applications of critical pathways. Assist with nursing staff development and education. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a Master of Science in Nursing or successful completion of a formal post-master's education for Advanced Registered Nurse Practioner. Valid State of Florida RN/ARNP licenses. Current CPR, HIV, Domestic Violence, and Medical Errors certification. Certification as an ARNP required. One year experience as an RN in ICU, ER, or Oncology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory as well basic computer literacy and skills. Any combination of relevant education, work experience and / or certifications will be considered.
