Youth Workers - Full and Part-Time

The Bridge Family Center is a comprehensive, nonprofit agency offering a broad range of services to children, youth, and families in the Greater Hartford area. The mission of The Bridge is to foster healthy growth and development in children, youth, and families through: Intervention, Prevention, Education, Resources, and Referral.The Youth Workers are responsible for behavioral management of the adolescents in our care, maintaining a daily routine, and ensuring a healthy and safe environment for the residents.Duties include engaging them in positive peer relations, recreational and leisure time activities, providing crisis counseling, and supervision of chores and other tasks. Other duties include transportation of residents as needed, administration of medications, and daily/shift documentation.We have several positions available, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift, full and part-time. Youth Workers are required to work some weekend hours, depending on the shift.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field, and one year of experience in a residential setting. Skills required include cultural sensitivity, excellent oral and written skills, ability to develop positive rapport with the adolescents in our care, as well as ability to establish professional boundaries and limits.
