Youth Achieving Potential Impact Manager

Through unique partnerships and approaches, the United Way mobilizes partners and resources to address root causes. Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of community.If you are an expert in the Youth Achieving Potential area (e.g. school readiness, health and nutrition, socialization, early childhood development, after school programs), able to produce clear and concise written documents, think critically, facilitate group process, enjoy research and analysis, develop a working knowledge of public policy issues and can effectively formulate strategies to develop community partnerships this job may be for you. Responsibilities also include recruiting, orienting, training, managing and assisting impact area volunteers to devise strategies and implement a work plan consistent with the purpose of the impact area.
Put your talents to work by leading the development and progression of UWCM's community impact activities in the area of Youth Achieving Potential. Our goal is to insure that youth are successful in school, make healthy choices and are prepared for post-secondary education or employment.
The successful candidate will manage the resource distribution and oversight process for selected non-profit providers; identify and pursue relevant partnerships, collaborations, new initiatives and grant opportunities; facilitate the assessment and outcome evaluation processes through an organized volunteer structure to make change happen.For more information on United Way's Youth Achieving Potential impact area, please click on the following link: http://www.uwcm.org/YouthAchievingPotential/
REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in social work or a related field and 3 yrs. of applicable human/social service experience or a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and a minimum of 5 yrs. full time human/social service experience. Possess expertise in the specific issue area and be able to produce clear and concise written documents. Ability to think critically, facilitate group process and form strategies to develop community partnerships necessary to address community needs as well as possess the ability to conduct research, analyze and evaluate issues to make recommendations on courses of action. Excellent computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook programs.
