Women's Program Team Leader

Alexian Center for Mental Health, a community mental health center in Arlington Heights, has an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Clinician/Team Leader. You will be responsible for supervision and providing services in our new women's program, under the direction of the Director of Program Services.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, admission, development of treatment plans, and discharge of clients. If not a clinical supervisor, operates under the guidance of assigned clinical supervisor, with treatment plans requiring final approval of assigned clinical supervisor. If is a clinical supervisor, operates independently.

If a clinical supervisor, provides Outpatient services independently. If not a clinical supervisor, provides outpatient services with assigned clients individually, in families, or in groups under the supervision of assigned clinical supervisor. Type of clients to be determined by staff training and experience and in collaboration with the Outpatient coordinator.

If a clinical supervisor, conducts assessments independently. If not a clinical supervisor, conducts assessments on clients and families under the supervision of assigned clinical supervisor. May be assigned to conduct evaluations on court ordered clients for domestic violence group.

May work 3 evenings a week and possibly work on Saturday’s when scheduled.

Provides for a safe, comfortable environment and therapeutic milieu for clients.

Documents all information, contacts, and relevant action taken in the client’s chart, maintaining chart compliance per agency compliance reviews.

May have direct supervisory responsibilities including performance evaluations.

If assigned to be a clinical supervisor, provides clinical supervision to staff, on a group or individual basis. Provides final approval of assigned department’s treatment plans.

Provides crisis intervention to clients, as needed.

Collaborates with other agency staff on shared cases.

Completes client registration and billing information, works in cooperation with the Business Department to resolve any billing/financial issues.

Cooperates with all outside referral sources and third-parties and completes all required documentation in the specified time frame.

Provides confidentiality of client records and communications.

Participates in clinical supervision and actively seeks supervision and direction as needed.

Uses tact and sensitivity and communicates effectively with clients, visitors, co-workers and other agency personnel.

Demonstrates awareness of client’s needs as a total person (physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, cultural, etc.), consistent with client’s age and developmental level. Has competence in working with clients of ages the staff member is expected to treat, as defined by agency age specific competency policy.

Shares in the Center’s Vision, demonstrates its Values and Workplace Ethics, supports its Philosophy, and is sensitive to its Mission.

Adheres to and follows the Alexian Center for Mental Health’s policies, procedures, and Compliance Program.

Follows a regimen for professional growth, e.g., by attending various conferences or courses. A minimum of 15 hours of training per year is required.

Recommends quality and/or performance improvement initiatives, particularly for the Outpatient department.

Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Three years of relevant experience in the field.

Two years supervisory experience.

Counseling and evaluation knowledge of women’s health issues.

Must meet criteria of an LPHA. Has a current, valid Illinois license in one of the following areas: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.

Must have basic computer knowledge.

If working with Hispanic clients, fluency in Spanish language (written and spoken) is preferred.

If conducting Domestic Violence groups, 40 hours of Domestic Violence certification must be completed prior to beginning the groups.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Is able to adequately perform the Essential Functions of this Job; as well as being capable of meeting its Functional and Environmental Requirements.
