Volunteer and Disaster Response Coordinator

Coordinator will find volunteers and identify meaningful opportunities for them to utilize their resources to serve others, ensuring that positive relationships are built between volunteers, clients, and the professional staff of the Agency. Will serve as the Disaster Response Coordinator for the Lutheran Disaster Response Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania. This involves working with congregations, social ministry organizations and the wider community to prepare for and respond to disasters with material aid and volunteer effort.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree required with 3 years' experience in human services training and/or volunteer management. Knowledge of the greater Philadelphia area and of Lutheran churches and agencies. Experience being a volunteer and good computer skills required. Must have demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Empathy for the economically deprived and victims of disaster. Ability to work both with unpaid volunteers and professional staff a must.
