Therapeutic Staff Support

PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION IS NEEDED FOR BOTH THE MCMURRAY LOCATION AND THE BEAVER LOCATION. Therapeutic Staff Support services provide one-on-one interventions to a child or adolescent at home, school, day care, YMCA, emergency room, other community-based program, or community setting when the behavior without this intervention would require a more restrictive treatment or educational setting. Specific techniques, immediate behavioral reinforcement, emotional support, time structuring activities, time-out strategies, passive restraints and additional psychosocial rehabilitative activities as prescribed in the treatment plan. Staff is responsible for specific interventions to stabilize the child or adolescent, lending support for family efforts to stabilize the child or adolescent and to promote age-appropriateness behavior, by working with the child or adolescent to promote age appropriate behavior. The TSS works with other members of the treatment team and other professionals working in the home or other community settings and participation in Inter-Agency Service Planning, when requested by one’s supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Position requires a Bachelor degree in a human services related field such as psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education, criminal justice, etc. or sixty credits toward a Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field with three years of related paid working experience
