This position's main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing all aspects of telecommunications at the ADA; providing service to the ADA staff in the use and implementation of all telecommunications technologies, this includes the telephone switches in Chicago and DC, connected hardware and software, E911 reporting system, voicemail, faxes, automatic call distribution (ACD), call detail recorder (CDR), cell phones, pagers and all data circuits; developing operational policies and procedures related to the use and implementation of telecommunications technologies for all ADA locations; assisting in the planning, selection and implementation of telecommunications technology at the ADA, which includes technology support for the Member Service Center.
REQUIREMENTS
The position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years or nine years work experience managing and programming Nortel Meridian 1 telephone system, running X11 Release 18 or later, this experience should also include two years experience programming either Nortel Symposium Call Center Server or Nortel Call Pilot; two years experience supervising and training technicians at various levels of experience and skill; four years experience planning and implementing technical projects, such as corporate relocations, reorganizations, hardware and software upgrades, or switch replacements; three years experience creating documentation and procedures for technical staff and users and three years experience working in a Help Desk environment. This position also requires proven support skills, documentation and supervisory skills; telecommunications project experience; excellent oral/written communications skills; must be able to communicate technical issues in an easy-to-understand format. Highly desirable skill sets include: experience working with Nortel OTM software; experience programming and operating Nortel Symposium Call Center Server and client software; experience programming and operating Nortel Call Pilot Server and client software; experience working in and supporting an environment where ACD was heavily used, such as a Call Center; experience analyzing telecommunications bills and telecommunications usage reports; experience analyzing telecommunications offerings and contracts and a good understanding of LAN, WAN, server, and PC technology as it relates to telecommunications technology.
