Supervisor Files (Medical Records)
Supervises, coordinates and maintains the work flow activities of first, second and third shift Clerk I employees in the Files Department. Responsible for enforcing the confidentiality of patient's medical records, new employee training, orientation, counseling, discipling and evaluation, recommendations for hire, discharge, promotion, attendance records and compliance with Hospital policies. Responsible for developing work plans to resolve departmental crisis problems such as backlog loose sheets, purging, etc. Responsible for developing or suggesting improved methods for the operational work flow of the files department, reporting the accuracy and timeliness rates of employees, and quality monitoring of employees. RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous hospital or business experience with ART or RRA credentials preferred and/or 2 to 3 years of prior supervisory experience required. High School diploma or GED required. Knowledge of Medical Records File Room practices and procedures, experience with terminal digit filing, good organizational skills, good customer services skills, effective communication skills, physical activity as it relates to daily duties to include considerable walking, standing, lifting/moving of medical records (must lift, push, and pull 10 - 30 lbs). RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required.
