Job Description
Position reports to Executive Director

Case Management
•Recruit students by utilizing and updating an at risk young adult outreach plan.
•Collect student data through an application process and intake interview, life skills assessment test and classroom observation.
•Based on the data collected, assist and monitor students as they create their 16-week development plan which is directed toward individual program goals.
•Provide wrap-around community services for students through referrals for educational support, transportation/housing assistance, medical and/or dental care or referral to additional community programs.
•Execute a one and two year post program follow-up survey for Life’s Kitchen graduates to evaluate program successes and opportunities.
•Create and maintain current student records on computer based software system.

Student Skill Instruction
•Participate in, lead, and/or coordinate volunteer instructor led life skill sessions while ensuring a superior learning experience for students
•Assist the Executive Director with the recruitment and retention of high-quality life skills training volunteers
•Review content, presentation and relevance of each life skill lesson plan with volunteer instructors, while ensuring that full records of work done are kept
•Coach students and check for understanding of life skills through weekly student review sessions.
•Create, monitor and adjust -- with the culinary training staff -- the policies for assessing, recording and reporting on student achievement, and use these collaborative standards to set achievable targets for further student improvement.

Team Cohesion
•Assist with the training and orientation of new staff
•Actively participate at all staff meetings
•Practice effective communication with all staff and students
•Work collaboratively within team in order to accomplish team goals
•Prepare monthly reports for the board of directors
•Lead special projects as assigned by the Executive Director that could include grant writing, program documentation or volunteer management.
