SOCIAL MARKETING COORDINATOR (HIV PREVENTION)
Philadelphia Health Management Corporation (PHMC), a non-profit public health agency, is seeking a full-time Social Marketing Coordinator to oversee all aspects of the design, development and implementation of an innovative HIV prevention media campaign for young Black and White men who have sex with men (MSM). This position will work as part of a larger team of intervention staff and researchers from PHMC, the Mazzoni Center, a local LGBT community health center, and other partner agencies.
Specific types of media that will be developed include: journalistic short stories based on the role model story format for small print, internet and radio production, larger community-based media formats such as posters, and an interactive website.
This position requires a background in social marketing, health communication, health education, journalism, or a related field.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Social Marketing Coordinator will have primary responsibility for interfacing with the project’s research and design teams to implement an HIV prevention media campaign that is theoretically based and culturally relevant. A key responsibility of this position is to develop ways to engage members of the target community in the design, production and distribution of the media campaign materials.
Specific duties of the Social Marketing Coordinator will include:
· Pre-testing initial materials in the target community and working with local artists and printers to produce ongoing media materials for distribution.
· Recruit and conduct interviews with community members, and develop real-life role model stories of the experiences of men at risk for HIV who have successfully lowered their risk.
· Act as a liaison with Design for Social Impact, a social marketing firm working on media planning and media products for this project, and other media production agencies involved in the project.
· Development and implementation of an ongoing production schedule for the media campaign.
· Network with project staff, potential promotion agents and community members to publicize the campaign.
SALARY:

REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS:
· Strong project coordination skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team.
· Must have excellent communications skills and a demonstrated ability to interface with community leaders to meet project goals.
· Excellent writing ability required.
· Strong computer skills, including knowledge of computer graphics programs is desirable.
EXPERIENCE:
· Experience working with graphic designers.
· Experience developing creative content and materials
· Familiar with HIV prevention issues facing young men who have sex with men and the MSM community, including specific knowledge on prevention needs of Black and White MSM.
· Public Health Research background is desirable, but not necessary.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in health communication, health education and promotion, journalism, social marketing, or a related field is required. Prior relevant experience is very helpful.
