Join the Thresholds team!The substitute house manager is responsible for overseeing Thresholds Members in 1 of 3 very nice group homes. The following is a description of responsibilities for this position:
1. The substitute house manager is a social service position that will engage and teach members of independent living skills, such as housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation and personal hygiene from a recovery standpoint.2. The substitute house manager will be responsible for exercising discretion and independent judgment in assisting member with problem solving skills, responding to emergencies, and generally managing the residence.3. The substitute house manager will be responsible for planning and engaging members to partake in off site activities on the weekends or evenings that encourage interpersonal relationship development as well as community integration skills.4. Maintain the security of the residence by locking the residence upon leaving and enforcing proper procedures with regard to money, medication, and possessions of members and the agency.
5. Keep the residence neat and clean at all times. Advise Residential Team Leader of any maintenance problems and issues.6. Communicate significant information regarding house members to other staff workers through appropriate means as defined by the program. Provide accurate and timely information to your supervisor on all topics and issues related to the operation of the residence and the well being of its members.7. Monitor medication adherence with members and contact case managers, supervisors, psychiatrists or therapists when necessary.8. May be required to remain on work-site and on-duty until relief coverage is engaged; or until proper coverage is arranged and with supervisor approval, per guidelines established by the program.
9. Must notify supervisor of all instances where residential coverage was not properly provided.Responsible for finishing all assigned paperwork completely and on time. This paperwork is an essential function of the position. Candidates must have experience with technology.Qualifications and Experience Required:
High School Diploma , Experience working with individuals with mental illness is a plus, must be willing to work overnight shift at group homes and be avail on weekends and some weekdays. Must be willing to fill in on at least 1-2 holiday per year.Position Hours are: 25-30 Hours; Weekends and some weekdays; overnight shift requirement for 24 hour supervised facilities
