Project Assistant - Housing and Community Development

Provides administrative, technical, and community development services and analysis to Project Developers in the development of housing projects.


Duties include:



1.
Assists Developer in meeting with MSC staff to determine resident profile and service needs.




2.
Assists in performing tasks necessary to obtain local approvals and neighborhood acceptance of proposed housing projects including submitting land use applications, attending hearings and neighborhood meetings, and fostering a team approach to obtaining neighborhood acceptance.




3.
Provides support to Developer in the on-going coordination between architects, contractors, and other members of the Project Development team.




4.
Prepares project financial analysis including preparing applications for funding.




5.
Performs all types of administrative tasks associated with housing development.




6.
Meets regularly with the Regional Director of Housing Development and provides written and oral progress reports as requested.Job RequirementsTravel Percentage: 0%

Education: Bachelors degree required with a preference for a degree in economics, planning, or related field. Other professional qualifications, including significant work experience in affordable housing, may be substituted for a degree.


Experience: Minimum of one year of demonstrated experience in related work, preferably low-income housing.


-Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.-Demonstrated proficiency level in Microsoft Office Suite software.-Ability to produce and analyze financial spreadsheets.-Ability to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds and professional levels.-Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to privileged legal and financial matters.
