Portfolio Specialist

The Cara Program is a non-profit organization that assists economically disadvantaged individuals in improving their skills, finding full-time employment, and achieving real, lasting success.

The Portfolio Specialist plays a key role in the success of The Cara Program. You will be responsible for managing the student resume and portfolio process to ensure that students are able to highlight their strenghts and accomplishments.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement creative methods to complete student portfolios.

· Verify employment and reference information as needed.

· Create innovative ways to write and format resumes and references that can strongly capture student skills and strengths.

· Communicate student performance and work with the corporate account staff to identify students that would be a good match for positions based on work experience and performance at Cara.

· Work with The Cara Program’s career services staff to share industry trends and needs.

· Hold students accountable for obtaining information and completing assignments.

· Assist in specialized training and professional clothing preparation for students as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
This position plays a critical role in the success of our mission. Ideal candidate must be:

· Results-oriented and driven.
· Organized and able to perform effectively under pressure and meet target dates.
· Creative and assertive in seeking innovative ways to improve the program.
· Proficient in MS Word and able to demonstrate excellent written communication skills. Experience in professional writing preferred but not required.
