The Distinguished Events Manager reports to the Director of Distinguished Events and assists with department planning and project implementation. The Manager is responsible for assigned elements of the Discovery Ball, including data management and budget tracking. This position also oversees designing and implementing four donor cultivation events to support the Major Gift efforts, and assists with special event staff training and support. The Manager serves as the staff liaison for the Associate Board, and may be housed in the Division office in downtown Chicago.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three or more years of progressive experience in the special event/fundraising / marketing area
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Significant computer expertise, including MS Office applications
Attention to detail, strong organizational and relationship-building skills
Strong presentation skills
Experience recruiting and managing volunteers
Knowledge of Chicago’s business, philanthropic and social communities is desirable
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
Must be able to travel and have access to a car
Nonsmoker
