Responsibilities: An Employment Specialist is responsible for supporting individuals with disabilities to obtain community jobs of their choice and maintain by providing the necessary individual support to ensure satisfaction by both the employer and the employee. Such supports primarily include job counseling, assistance in job placement, job coaching, follow up and support. The Employment Specialist also provides training to employers and co-workers at the job site to promote natural supports in the workplace. The Employment Specialist is also responsible for managing case files to ensure the person’s input, timely documentation and accurate information. The number of individuals typically included on a caseload (5 to 12) varies depending upon the amount of time required to provide services to the individuals. The Employment Specialist is expected to uphold the Mission & Values of the Association and support people to achieve personal outcome measures. REQUIREMENTS

Some college education is required and a bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
Hours require applicants to be flexible and must be available evenings and weekends. Prior experience in a related field is required and least 1 year of working with people with Developmental Disabilities.
Excellent oral; written; organizational and leadership skills are essential.
Must have Clear State Police History and a valid Illinois Drivers License.
