HEALTH SERVICES COORDINATOR

Responsible for developing & maintaining arrangements with community health agencies for provision of health services to Head Start children such as medical exams, dental exams, screenings & follow-ups, nutrition assessments, visual screenings, anemia, lead screenings, blood pressure, TB testing and immunization status. Work cooperatively with other Head Start staff to screen, identify, refer children with special needs for diagnosis, treatment & follow-up. Consult with Head Start Director to ensure the provision of adequate nutrition program for children. Coordinate functions of Health Advisory
Committee. Track and record in-kind contributions. Coordinate activities of staff assigned as Health Services Assistants. Develop Health Services content area plan and budget and participate as a part of the Head Start Management Team.
REQUIREMENTS
RN or LPN licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Minimum of two to three years experience in community health services. Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of personnel, children and parents. Computer proficiency is required. Must have ability to conduct comprehensive training for health related topics and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Prior experience in the health field working with preschool children is a plus. Bilingual skills a definite plus.
