Counselor, Outdoor Therapeutic Program

Implements individual therapeutic treatment plans by leading group problem-solving sessions, providing individual counseling and using appropriate and varied therapeutic techniques supervising a group of 10 females during the day and evening hours.
Completes required reports and schedules, such as treatment reports, critical incident reports, weekly time sheets, home stay goals and material requisitions.
Works with teachers to meet campers’ educational needs.
Prepares for and goes on trips with clients.
Insures the health, hygiene and physical well-being of campers.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related seminars and conferences. Applies pertinent new knowledge to performance of other responsibilities.Counselors work three and a half days and are off three and a half days.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field of study, good physical condition for outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking and canoeing, one year of experience working with “at risk” youth and must be 21 years of age or older.
