1) Assist with the development, implementation, documentation and review of behavior treatment Programs utilizing knowledge of residents assigned to him/her in conjunction with the Behavior Analyst or his/her designee(s).
2) Assume assigned responsibilities and being on duty for hours pertaining to a designated shift:
a) Day Shift Site Specific
b) Evening Shift Site Specific
c) Night Shift Site Specific
as scheduled on a monthly basis.
3) Assist with the provision of training and orientation of new Community Living Specialists.
4) Assist in open and ongoing communication with the families and /or agency representatives of the residents.
5) Responsible for the health and welfare of residents, e.g., clothing, personal hygiene and dental care.
6) Assist with the planning, implementation and documentation of residential and day program Individual Educational or Habilitation Plans as appropriate to shift assignment; assist in the implementation of determined goals and objectives, collect pertinent data, maintaining notebooks, charting progress and writing progress reports. Staff are required to complete all paperwork as assigned.
7) Participate in case conferences to review resident progress.
8) Attend and participate in all individual , shift and general staff meetings.
9) Attend and participate in all in-service training sessions.
10) Pursue opportunities for continued career development in conjunction with the Program Director or his designee(s).
11) Maintain appropriate personal appearance and demeanor as related to situational needs, as a representative of the program and as a role model for residents.
12) Display absolute professional conduct concerning confidentiality with regards to residents, employees or any aspect of the program.
REQUIREMENTS
Community Living Specialist Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. and minimum age of 21 years.
A college degree is preferred. AA or BA in related fields preferred (e.g. Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Special Education, Criminal Justice, etc.).
A valid Driver’s License if assisting with transportation needs.
Ability to communicate with and provide direct assistance to individuals experiencing a developmental disability.
