ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTORDEPARTMENT: LA CLINICA PITTSBURG CLINIC (MEDICAL SECTION)
CLASSIFICATION: REGULAR FULL-TIME 100% (BASED ON A 40 HR WORK WEEK)
REPORTS TO: MEDICAL DIRECTOR

THE POSITION
In coordination with the Medical Director, the Associate Medical Director is responsible for the development, implementation and assessment of quality medical services for La Clinica de la Raza at our Pittsburg Clinic. 80% or 32 hours per week will be devoted to direct patient care in the specialty of Family Practice. The remainder accommodates other clinical and administrative responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.Board Eligible / Board Certified in Family Practice.Creative skill, ability, resourcefulness and judgement in the analysis and solution of medical / administrative problems.Sensitivity to needs of multi-cultural population with ability to work with a variety of personalities is essential.Strong desire to strengthen and direct the quality of care provided at the site.Experience in managed care preferred.Bilingual Spanish/English required.

REQUIREMENTS
Provides direct medical care to patients from all age groups and a variety of backgrounds, but primarily to the but not limited to, Spanish - speaking community. This includes but not limited to, management of acute and chronic conditions, preventive services, pediatrics and prenatal services.Directs patient care operations and quality assurance related to professional medical and health care services.In coordination with the Medical Director performs administrative responsibilities which include recruitment, orientation, supervision of the clinical staff (physicians, mid-levels, and nurses) and evaluation of professional personnel; development and revision of work procedures to expedite improved levels of delivery of services to patients.Represents La Clinica de La Raza and Pittsburg to the medical community and specific institutions as requested and as necessary, within guidelines provided by the corporation.In conjunction with the Medical Director provides perspective on any/all issues of concern to the site or agency. This includes input on strategic planning, clinical operations, program development and grant management.Serves on a consultative basis to assist the site manager, health educator, and other support staff in the performance of his/her responsibilities.Assists medical director in assuring hospital and after hours service system is in place for Pittsburg patients.Inpatient care and on- call responsibilities are not currently required but could be in the future.Other duties assigned by supervisor.
