AmeriCorps Workers for Youth Services
The Northwest Workforce Development Council, a private non-profit corporation, is seeking two AmeriCorps workers as Youth Resource Specialists in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. Duties include: outreach and onsite orientations with area high schools, community based organizations, community/technical college partners and juvenile justice programs to introduce youth age 14 to 25 to WorkSource and its partners' training, employment and career services. Successful applicants must be between the ages of 18-25 years.
Position starts 10/2/06, and ends 8/17/07. 40-hour work week. Must be able to pass Washington State Patrol background check. AmeriCorps members serve full-time, for one year with varying work hours and receive a modest living allowance of $850 a month, health insurance, an education award of $4,725, and travel reimbursement.
