Grandville Printing Company, based out of Grandville, Michigan, is seeking Web Sales Representatives in various markets throughout the U.S. This position requires no relocation, but does require previous sales experience in the printing industry.Web Sales Representative

Function:
This position is primarily responsible for web sales in a designated territory to prospective and current customers. Must be aware of job status throughout the entire printing process by communicating with sales assistant or customer service representative.

Primary Duties:
50% Sells all company capabilities to new and established customers within the printing industry. Accountable for maintaining and expanding annual profitable sales to assigned customers. Finds prospective customers through referrals, customer lead books and customers sought by self through cold calls.

13% Maintains customer relations and customer satisfaction by establishing relationships with prospective and current customers by routine sales calls, lunches, dinners, travel/hotel arrangements, cards, event tickets, and encouraging web site visits, etc.

8% Assesses customer’s plans regarding future print projects, future budgets, and internal office automation or in-house marketing plans, and updates sales manager quarterly of this information. Develops additional contacts at each account to assure continuity and/or sales growth.

4% Identifies needs of customers and potential customers regarding printed materials. Educates himself/herself in all phases of customer’s business.

5% Obtains customer specifications in complete detail and closes sale based upon estimate and selling price. Obtains quote and invoice for job from estimator.

3% Attends scheduled sales meetings, and daily production meeting when in office. Responsible for communicating daily with customer service regarding jobs in progress.

2% Maintains company sample products and shows prospective customers samples of our work which are of equal or better quality than the customer is currently having printed elsewhere.

4% Qualifies which types of work will fit in at the company (viable formats and quantities possible within company equipment and scheduling capabilities) and works with estimating to prepare quote for such jobs. Is aware of all company capabilities and printing press schedules. Communicates company policies to customers and assists customers interpret invoices.

4% Insures that the company provides competitive pricing, excellent customer service, quality products, and on-time shipping to obtain repeat business by clearly communicating the customers needs to customer service representatives and by being aware of job status throughout the entire printing process.

2% Informs customer service representatives of customer problems, changes or new information, as necessary.

2% Assists the customer in planning jobs by offering creative ideas on design, layout, and binding.

2% Maintains call records, expense account records and customer information sheets.

1% Accurately reports use of time, expenses, and reasons why quotations did not become live jobs.

1% Performs other duties as requested.

Secondary Duties:
2% Enters data for quotes on computer, writes correspondence, faxes quotes and other pertinent information to customers.

Relationships:
Internal:Interacts with production manager daily regarding job specifications.Contacts customer service representative when customers change or update print job.Contacts sales assistant for assistance in following through on customer requests such as faxing quotes and resolving problems with jobs in production. Advises sales assistant of travel schedule, and updates sales assistant on call reports.Contacts web estimator, as necessary, to facilitate customer quotes.External:Contacts current customers as practically necessitated by jobs in progress.Contacts prospective customers when possible. Cold call are expected each week by phone or written contact, followed up by a personal visit whenever acceptable to prospect.
REQUIREMENTS
Specifications:
Required:General knowledge of the printing industry, printing process, current technology, and printing formats is necessary for this position.Good written and verbal communication skills necessary.Good organization skills for tracking job information and maintaining reliable and current database.Motivated, ambitious, dependable, and personable individual with high level of initiative needed to seek out leads, call on customers, work entire territory and possibly expand on given territory.Previous sales experience.Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred:College degree in sales, business, or printing.Additional business experience or related college coursework strongly necessary.Computer knowledge of Microsoft programs desirable for internal letters and quotes. Prepress or design experience helpful.
Job Conditions:Frequently required to entertain or meet with customers for extended periods of time (i.e. overnight, in another city). Daily travel required to meet with prospective and current customers.Must be available at any hour to accommodate the customer’s jobs on press.
Scope of Authority:Authorized to stop presses.Authorized to approve office copies.Unauthorized to approve re-runs or credits; they must be approved by the president, chairman, Vice President of Operations, CFO, or the pressroom manager.
