Video Editor

Tempe based video production firm seeking to hire a highly motivated Video Editor to work in fast paced creative production environment. Position requires at least 1 year experience and preference will be given to applicants with 2 or 4 year degree or equivalent experience. Must work well with coworkers and communicate effectively with clients. Must be extremely organized and detail oriented. MUST HAVE CREATIVE SAMPLES IN DVD VIDEO FORMAT.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:

2 or 4 year degree in postproduction or equivalent experience. At least 1 year professional editing experience. Extensive knowledge of Final Cut Pro 4.5 or later (5.0 preferred) and basic skills in all Apple Production Suite applications (DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Motion, Compressor). Graphic design skills in current Adobe applications. Knowledge of video systems hardware and software.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

The ideally qualified applicant for this position will be a highly energetic creative individual. The applicant will be detail oriented and have a passion to create a clean effective final product. The applicant will have a passion for editing with the ability to tell a story within the confines of a projects budget constraints. The candidate will easily communicate with clients and provide expertise and empathy, guiding the client to the finished product. The candidate will be flexible and able to work all areas of the business including cinematography on ENG style cameras and DVD duplication if required. The candidate will be self-motivated and work well with others. Customer service and communication skills are paramount.

Responsibilities:

Complete postproduction projects from start to finish guiding the customer through the process if needed.

Communicate effectively with clients who often ‘sit-in’ for long lengths of time during editing and package design.

Complete high quality graphics for DVD printing and packaging based on themes created in the video project.

Flexibility to move to any other position within the organization as required (Cinematography, DVD duplication, Customer service, etc.)

Commitment: 30-40 hrs/week

Salary: $14-18/hr DOE

Possibility of promotion to salaried position with limited benefits if a good fit after 6 month review.
