Radio Communications Supervisor

Steamatic of Kansas City is part of a world wide organization committed to providing emergency services for victims of fire and water damage.Our emergency responses are generated by reception of emergency dispatch calls from fire stations. We use sophisticated electronic equipment to receive these calls. You will be trained to monitor these calls and to alert our emergency responder personnel.Steamatic needs a person with supervisory skills and the ability to work without direct supervision to man our electronic call center. This is a full time position with good growth potential in salary and responsibilities. You must be a mature, intelligent person with good hearing and good judgment. You will need basic computer skills to communicate by internet and locate additional information on various web sites.This is a job that can be performed by a person who must use a wheel chair. You will need normal hand coordination to operate dials on electronic equipment and keyboard on the computer. You must be able to speak and read English fluently.
As our hours of operation in this Communication Center increase, you will be responsible to hire and train additional personnel so we can eventually have the center in 24 hour operation all days of the year.
Your pay will be initially based on your present level of supervisory and technical experience. Pay increases will be established by your performance on the job. REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience with ham radios is helpful, but not required. You must be flexible regarding working hours. Initial hours will be 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A good knowledge of the geography of Kansas City is helpful.
