Online Content Producer

Work schedule: Will include weekends and nights, 3:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Working closely with newsroom and other content providers, keep MiamiHerald.com updated constantly with news, photos, audio, video, blogs; create and edit original multimedia content; send SMS text messages and email newsletters; package all content including blogs, podcasts and vidcasts as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
·Bachelor’s degree in journalism, preferably with graphics, web design, audio, video training
·Two years experience as an online journalist for a news web site
·Thorough understanding and appreciation of site usability, readers’ expectations
·Sense of urgency for posting breaking news
·Experience with content management systems
·Experience in multimedia production, including basic web design and photo/audio/video editing
·Flexibility and multi-tasking ability; willingness to drop everything to work on special projects as dictated by news events
·Team player who can work with newsroom, technical & marketing departments, national shared content teams, readers
·Knowledge of and experience with as many of the following computer programs as possible:HTML (CSS), XML
Adobe Creative Suite 2 (PhotoShop, Illustrator, Image Ready, etc.)
Studio 8 (Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.)
Adobe Premiere or Ulead or Final Cut Pro or other video applications
Goldwave or Audacity or Adobe Audition or other audio applicationsSorenson Squeeze or other conversion applications
