Manager/ Sr. Manager Team Sites-Interactive Services Depart.

Position Summary

· The Team Sites Manager serves as the management liaison between team internet contacts and the league office, manages the league's team site editorial group, and helps publish and manage team site content.

Major Responsibilities

· Set and maintain high standards for the sites, including editorial, technology, and business priorities such as ticket sales support, sponsored content and other business initiatives

· Help develop and maintain guidelines and marketing direction for team site operations

· Coordinate league wide initiatives across team contacts and internal league departments

· Utilize publishing tools to update team content including news, features, photos, video, and audio and ensure that team sites are interesting, accurate and user-friendly

· Create short-term and long-term programming plans designed to bring team experiences closer to fans through new and innovative content.

· Work with the department head to serve as a sounding board and industry expert for team contacts on development plans and new technology initiatives from the teams

· Some writing and event coverage (Finals, All-Star Weekend, Draft) may also be required
REQUIREMENTS


Required Skills/Knowledge:

· Strong project management skills

· Internet and computer-savvy; familiar with key sites and functionalities

· Experience with web content/publishing tools including HTML coding

· Good writing skills with editorial experience.

· Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

· Self-starter with excellent problem solving skills



Experience Needed:

· Minimum of 3-5 years Internet publishing experience, editing and writing background in media (Internet, newspaper or magazine) preferred.

· Must have experience managing multiple vendors or accounts



Educational Background Required:

· BA/BS or MA in communications, English or other relevant field
