Manager, Media Research

WB TV Distribution Inc. seeks a Manager, Media Research within Media Research. Position develops sales presentations. Identifies marketplace and program environment, decides upon strategy for specific market and situation, writes sales presentations and presents information at weekly cable research/sales meetings. Compiles and evaluates national cable and network data on performance of company programs. Prepares written presentations, which highlight all positive stories. Creates one-sheeters which will be used for trade advertising (Reports generated also used by Marketing & Advertising and Publicity to promote programs in trade and consumer press). Partners with Research Directors in managing daily Cable workload on various Sales/Research projects such as compiling and tracking rating/demographic/marketing historical data for a variety of programs for their specific projects. Works closely with marketing and promotions to best position Warner Bros product in the marketplace. Tracks and evaluates competitors programs. Keeps company executives informed of competing programs and overall marketplace. Attends staff and/or planning meetings at Domestic Cable Distribution as required by supervisor. Performs other projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
BS/BA in TV/Film, business, research, communications, psychology or related field required. Must be able to develop and write sales presentations. Thorough understanding of TV Cable Sales and Research required. Must be able to operate an IBM personal computer. Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Nielsen software strongly preferred. Knowledge of broadcasting research and marketing techniques utilizing Nielsen rating services and other marketing research tools required. Must be able to organize and prioritize group projects. Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel. Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Minimum 3 years research experience required. Must be effective communicator with all levels of personnel. Must be able to thrive under pressure and meet demanding deadlines. Must be very flexible in switching priorities and projects.
