Imaging Technician

The Monterey County Herald has an immediate opening for a Full-time Imaging Technician. The Imaging Technician is responsible for producing high quality scans and color correction, and outputting and inspecting negatives for all products related to the Monterey County Herald. Successful candidates will digitize and color-correct photos for printing, maintain and monitor the image setting hardware, inspect and log in negatives for plate making, and effectively communicate printing errors to other departments.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and must be accomplished at managing multiple tasks efficiently. One to three years related work experience (camera and/or newspaper production experience) and Macintosh skills are required. Knowledge of Quark, In Design, and Photoshop highly desired. High School diploma is required.

Normal days/hours of work: Typically, five consecutive days and weekends, 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
