Editor

As part of the Channel Marketing Content Team, the editor works directly with writers, designers, the editing team, as well as Marketing, Merchandising and management, to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all proofreading projects and responsibilities. The editor has experience in the mediums Quill utilizes (email, website, catalog, direct mail, etc.). As a member of the editing team, you will edit all product copy to ensure all purchasing info is complete and accurate. You will edit catalog direct mail pieces for grammar, punctuation rules, registration and trademark usage, legal requirements and branding. You will edit all email & web pages and perform quality control functions to ensure the website is fast & simple for our customers to use.
Edit work that flows through Channel Marketing to ensure 100% accuracy and ease of use for Quill Customers.
Ensure that all work follows standard rules of grammar and Quill style/brand guides.
Assist the Sr. Editor in managing workflow, priorities, capacity and quality control.
Revise all catalog pages, web pages and print pieces to create a fast and simple customer experience.
Communicate necessary revisions to creative team.
Job Requirements
Bachelor Degree: Journalism, English, Communications or Advertising.

One to two years prior related work experience.

Thorough knowledge of the standard rules of grammar.
Consistent, extremely accurate editing and proofreading skills.
Sound judgement and the ability to make good editing decisions.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Able to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet tight, demanding deadlines.
Must be proficient in both Macintosh and PC operating systems.
Quark or InDesign required.
Outlook required.
Comfort and knowledge of Internet, Print, "e-tail," and catalog activities.
Catalog or product info experience a plus.
