We are seeking a qualified Development Supervisor with strong Project Management experience and familiary in several content areas.



This individual will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, organizing, and supervising the overall development of a major content area or multiple areas for shelf and contract products/projects.


Develops/approves content rationale and specifications


Supervises development of all material in multiple content areas and provides development team with direction and leadership


Determines required resources and develops work plans to complete development to meet schedule requirements; monitors progress and reports status to the Program or Project Manager


Oversees staff and ensures adherence to the approved development process with no variance and within project timelines


May serve as the Project Manager for process segment(s) on custom or shelf programs


Serves as the final content 'eye" for the product/project team and ensures quality and consistency across product/project pieces


Initiates and facilitates interdepartmental cooperation and intradepartmental procedures, communication, and problem resolution


Initiates and facilitates cross-department exchange of content information


Proactively plans for product/project needs and professional growth


Maintains professional network in area of content expertise


Interacts frequently with customers and travels to customer meetings as needed

Job Requirements

Required:


Bachelor's degree


4+ years experience successfully developing assessment materials within multiple content areas on multiple projects on time and within budget or related experience as described


Related experience includes, but is not limited to:
assessment specialist or expert in curriculum development employed by a State Department of Education
supervisor in hand scoring
district or state test coordinator
instructor of measurement and statistics at the college level
teacher with experience developing valid classroom assessments


In-depth knowledge of a major content domain and current curriculum and measurement issues in that domain


Attuned to market/customer needs with the experience to conceive and recommend products and aspects of products to meet those needs


Ability to provide direction, consistent approach, and sensitivity to the user


Ability to successfully manage a variety of projects and assignments simultaneously


Excellent problem-solving skills with proven ability to inspire others to help find creative solutions to challenging situations or perceived problems


Must apply team-building skills including collaboration with other departments, assigned staff, and senior management


Highly organized, self-directed, attentive to details with excellent written and oral communication skills


Ability to use a computer for basic word processing

2+ years experience leading the development of content on multiple projects


Knowledge of educational trends and issues and educational research and measurement methods


Established network of professional contacts in the domain of a major content area


Comprehensive knowledge of test development and publishing practices and procedures within Content Development and across departments


Knowledge of simple spreadsheet applications
