Communications Assistant

1st Shift; Full timeSUMMARY:
The Communications Assistant reports to the Director of Communicatoins and works under the supervision of the Director of Client and Community Relations.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Compose and design newsletters, brochures, forms, fliers and signs.2.Assist in the writing of articles for newsletters and other publications and copy for press releases.3.Photograph Luther Manor related events, both on and off campus. Maintain both physical and digital photo libraries and photo release file.
4.Assist in maintenance and improvements to Luther Manor website and increase Internet presences.5.Coordinate distribution of newsletters and processing of direct mail projects.
6.Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:1.Basic knowledge of Macintosh computer systems, including page lay-out, photo enhancement and web software.
2.Good proofreading and writing skills.3.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and electronically with a variety of people, including staff, residents, volunteers and others of various ages, backgrounds and abilities.4.Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
5.Basic knowledge of photography.
