Job Description:
The role of the Global Pursuits Group (GPG) Communications and Pursuit Strategist (“CaPS”) is best defined as “Project Manager” when leading the development of a campaign’s proposal and meeting collateral. The assigned CaPS works alongside the GPG Business Development/Pursuit Leader and the Client Service Pursuit Leader to develop winning communication strategies that effectively demonstrate the team’s understanding of the client, showcase the team and Firm’s credentials and qualifications, and illustrate specific benefits and service responses that speak to client issues. Responsibilities: Strategy: Leads development of proposal and meeting collateral during the full cycle of the pursuit and contributes to strategic analysis of the opportunity. Attends and actively contributes to all kick-off strategy, status, follow-up/debrief, and oral/site visit preparation meetings concerning the pursuit. Contributes to overall strategy development; devising key themes and messages to support the campaign. Collateral Management/Leadership: Establishes proposal process, timeline and procedures to meet the needs of specific pursuit. Interviews E&Y’s client serving professionals to evaluate business issues and service responses required to meet potential clients’ needs and assigns proposal sections to appropriate contributors. Develops and directs both strategic and tactical development of collateral. Monitors progress of all pursuit team members to ensure adherence to deadlines and quality standards including final proofing and delivery of materials to client. Rewrites and customizes all proposal sections from disparate sources to ensure readability, consistency of message and tone, and coordinates editing and proofing of same. Reviews final production materials to ensure that message quality, format and content meet stated client objectives and are consistent with firm-wide communication guidelines. Supervises outside vendors in development of videos and contributes to script and content development. Teams with Business Development/Pursuit Leader in the coaching of meeting talking points, oral presentations, site visits and contributes to script development.Ernst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in a related field such as English, Public Communications, or Journalism. Master’s degree preferred. Experience: Typically requires 6+ years of relevant experience, including broad-based experience in marketing and/or sales, in-depth knowledge of Ernst & Young’s products and services, and an understanding of the business issues of the companies targeted. Excellent writing and communications skills and demonstrated project management experience is required. Previous experience writing proposals a plus.
