Job Summary and Mission

This job contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the development and implementation of market and store-specific strategic marketing plans that focus on increasing sales, supporting company growth and creating local value and applicability for the Starbucks brand. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Assists with the development and communication of marketing business plans, promotional recaps, creative briefs and presentations. Ensures all locally-developed creative marketing materials undergo brand and legal review. Prepares written communications such as marketing plans, creative briefs, meeting agendas, meeting recaps and project recommendations. Develops and submits locally relevant content for sections of the company's website.Develops plans for challenged stores and new stores, and provides support for new market openings within an assigned territory. Utilizes regional Marketing and Field Operations teams to execute plans. Directs local advertising and public relations agencies in plan development and execution.Evaluates regional community relations opportunities such as event sponsorships and charitable donations. Provides recommendation for programs that would have the most effective brand impact. Works with regional marketing manager to execute community relations initiatives.Leads implementation of marketing projects, programs, products and promotions. Participates in the ongoing generation of competitive and business reviews, presentations for zone leadership, marketing plan and program development at the local level. May lead marketing programs and activities for a time period or in support of zone or regional initiatives . Analyzes local marketing data competitive data and consolidates findings to support local marketing strategy development. Provides feedback and best practices to the Starbucks Support Center on a consistent basis.Manages projects to ensure marketing programs are well executed at a local level, from program inception to implementation and delivery. Works closely with retail and field partners to facilitate communication and ensure project integration. Promotes needs of the field marketing teams with the field marketing manager. Responds to a variety of requests from the Starbucks Support Center and Field Operations, such as calendar promotional queries and answers to operations questions. Assists with field driven programs or products as appropriate. Fosters cross-functional relationships with multiple departments, partners and customers. Provides marketing consultation to cross-functional teams.Oversees and coordinates or manages communication initiatives, special events, advertising production and placement, direct marketing, production of communication materials or other marketing programs.Works with regional Marketing team, Field Operations, Field Marketing Integration and Starbucks Support Center Marketing to ensure successful execution of programs. Leads effort to effectively measure and track results of regional marketing initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
Summary of Experience

Brand or retail marketing and management environment minimum 3 years
Working with advertising and public relations agency resources minimum 2 years
Working with the media, direct mail, promotions events, advertising and public relations minimum 2 years
Project management in a cross-functional environment
Strategic insight and business acumen
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
Analytical skills
Business acumen
Ability to lead or assist leadership on cross-functional projects and teams
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
