Turf Products Salesperson

JOB SUMMARY: J Mollema & Son, a Division of Commerce Corporation, is seeking Sales Team members to sell and service the wholesale products (fertilizer, grass seeds, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides) that we distribute to Turf Managers including golf courses, lawn care services and landscapers.LOCATION: Western Michigan, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, MuskegonRESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE: To become our customers most valued supplier.
Maintain an effective working relationship with Turf Managers and or the persons responsible for the purchasing decision for the Turf production and maintenance products we distribute.
Perform technical analysis of turf health diagnosis and problem-solve to help customer succeed in producing high quality turf and plants.
Forecasting of Sales for the branch/territory - monthly.Coordinate with Sales Manager to effectively price products.
Represent our company at trade shows and conferences as needed and applicable.
Responsible for communicating and coordinating with other departments in our organization to optimize profitability while providing the highest level of care for our customers.
Responsible for quoting products and prices under existing company guidelines.Perform regional competitive analysis to support territory sales planning.
EDUCATION: The successful candidate will have a formal education in either horticulture, turf management, or crops and soils, 5 or more years of experience in a turf sales environment, and strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Must have strong Microsoft Office skills.
Professional demeanor.Strong Communication and Organizational skills required.Must have an outgoing personality and enjoy dealing with public. Professional disposition and strong managerial skills.
Travel Requirements: rarely overnight.
