Tradeshow & Events Manager

Tradeshow & Events Manager The Research Development & Engineering Command (RDECOM) is actively seeking a Tradeshows & Events Manager who will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of all tradeshows and conferences, as well as ensuring that the exhibit and event strategies are aligned with Marketing and organizational objectives to include Lean Six Sigma events and activities. This position is based out of Aberdeen, MD and will require frequent travel to major tradeshows and events.Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the development and planning of concept, agenda and desired outcome of various DoD conferences, expos and seminars
• Establishing strategic marketing plans to achieve desired results
• Conduct extensive research on relevant topics and speakers in order to develop a detailed agenda
• Assist in the development of exhibit theme and floor plans
• Work closely with government customers including management, technical engineers, draftsmen and design/manufacturing in a concurrent team environment
• Conduct pre-show-site research and inspection
• Work with internal sponsors regarding show format, set-up/tear down, speakers, registration, attendees, VIPs, badges, etc
• Coordinate logistics associated with conferences including food, beverage, entertainment, audio visual, outside vendor services, ground transportation, give-aways, seating, reserving meeting rooms, tracking attendees and their requirements, etc
• Assist in the creation of internal and external promotional material
• Determine appropriate responses to various pre-show and during-show problems and emergencies
• Define, track, and manage team budgets while ensuring cost saving measures and prepare data for inclusion into reports
• Analyze team impact and metrics for events, tradeshows and projects• Provide recommendations and create solutions for continuous improvement
• Maintain knowledge of meeting, event and tradeshow industry trends and best in class practices as related to responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS
• 5-7 years of experience in the Exhibits and Events industry
• Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field and/or equivalent related experience
• Experience in US Government/Military tradeshow marketing preferred, but not required
• Demonstrate customer focus and skill/capabilities for cross-functional teamwork, vendor management, budget management
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge a plus
