As a Territory Manager, in the pharmaceutical sales industry you will meet or exceed product sales objectives for an assigned portfolio of products. You will be responsible for providing healthcare professionals with all relevant information that promotes quality healthcare decisions. The following represents your key responsibilities to achieve this objective:
Jointly create call plan and resource strategies with district management for maximizing top and bottom line results within the competitive market place; successfully implement the call plan, and deploy resource strategies as developed with district management on key prescribers and other customers; and seek out and utilize customer and market data to adjust sales strategies, and maximize sales results - monitoring progress and adjusting efforts and activities to exceed goals.
You will evaluate sales potential and access to existing customers for the purpose of adjusting 1) the Call Plan at determined time intervals, and 2) Resource offerings to existing customers.
You will continuously prospect for appropriate new customers, and will communicate opportunities, competitive activity, and business events to the District and Area Business Director or Sales/Marketing Management, as appropriate. You will continuously develop business relationships with the “highest value” customers, which lead to increased access and sales results.
You will customize the delivery of product messages (e.g. anatomy, physiology, disease state, and treatment options) to align with customer needs, and will highlight only those features and benefits that are relevant to the customer, yet consistent with Package Insert and Good Promotional Practice.
You will complete all assignments for the District Manager and Headquarters Sales Management in a timely and efficient manner (including the maintenance of accurate records on all accounts and activities within the territory).
You will complete all call reporting responsibilities in accordance with current procedures.
You will distribute samples only to licensed practitioners, and will follow all Good Promotional Practice procedures and policies.
You will provide for the needed study and certification time, during off-territory hours, required to learn medical, product, and policy information, as well as to maintain Company supplies, equipment, and records.
You will prepare for and actively participate in all required sales conferences and training classes at local and/or remote locations.
You will undertake a program of performance and career development, whether through Wyeth or your own initiative, and will continually strive to improve knowledge, skills, and capabilities.
You will collaborate with Regional Account Managers (RAM), Area Account Managers (AAM), Specialty Managers, and Territory Manager on the overall strategic plan for the assigned geographic business. You will support these presentations with the appropriate literature, samples, and special programs.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree. Prior Pharmaceutical or healthcare selling experience is preferred. A demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively is required. Must have effective interpersonal, organizational, consultative, and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to advance and influence the acceptance of ideas. Demonstrated creativity to accomplish sales goals is required. Must have a working knowledge of sales operations including data/reports, targeting, call planning, and sales tactics. An understanding of market strategy, tactical mix, and financial management (including budget and P&L components) is required.

Relocation is not available for this position.
