This position will be based in Aventura, FL   POSITION PURPOSE

 

Core role is to develop and execute marketing strategies for a designated cluster of hotels using online and offline marketing channels and strategic partnerships. Position has direct revenue and client management responsibility, ensuring that strategies drive revenue to each customer segment within each property, and that property teams and ownership groups are highly satisfied with the service and strategies being delivered.

 

The Senior Manager will also play a role in analyzing promotions and activities to build and disseminate best practices, and developing innovations that further the value that Field Marketing brings to the properties served and to Starwood overall.

Key responsibility is to improve performance of overall Revenue Per Available Room (RevPar) index, revenue to expense ratios for all marketing initiatives and other key financial and customer metrics for supported hotels, both in the immediate and the long term, with primary ownership of online regional reporting through the Regional Marketing Planning and Performance Tool to provide monthly and quarterly analysis for owners and corporate office.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

                                 Individual property campaigns

                                 Cluster marketing campaigns (region, city or other cluster [resort, urban, airport, etc.])

                                 Need period and awareness marketing campaigns

                                 Email and direct mail campaigns on behalf of the region

                                 Local and corporate marketing partners

                                 New Build and Conversion hotel marketing plans

                                 Regular meetings with property teams

                                 Involvement or presentation in owner’s meetings as relevant

                                 Building and sharing field marketing best practices and innovations   Essential Functions:

 Develop and manage marketing plans for a cluster of hotels to drive revenue across all customers segments (leisure travel, corporate travel and group/meetings), and work with the Field Marketing Director to ensure smooth execution of marketing programs for assigned hotels. Provide monthly and quarterly analysis for the region, cluster, or individual hotels, including performance of campaigns and channels, along with return on investment statistics.  Maximize and optimize the performance of all marketing channels based on these results.Leverage best practices in marketing, marketing operations and reporting within Starwood’s global field marketing community.Ensure brand identity standards are maintained at the property and regional levelEvaluate and solicit new marketing, partnership and barter opportunitiesProvide support in strategic planning and market research
REQUIREMENTS
         Periodic travel will be required to participating hotels.           4-6 years of  marketing experience in online and offline marketing          Knowledge of marketing objectives, tactics and strategies required; experience with online marketing, advertising, direct mail, collateral development and print production          Finance/budget planning and management required.          Travel and/or hospitality industry experience a plus.          Strong leadership and conflict/resolution skills required.          Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.          Ability to influence others          Strong organizational skills          Strong negotiation skills          Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholder groups e.g. GMs, Sales and Revenue management leaders, and Media representatives          Solid understanding of working with dynamic websites and utilizing a content management system.           Intellectual and analytical curiosity – initiative to dig into the “why” of various results.          Advanced computer skills and detailed knowledge of various computer programs, including a strong proficiency of MS Powerpoint, Excel . Adobe Photoshop and rudimentary HTML knowledge is a plus. Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred degree in Marketing, Advertising and/or Communication.
