Reporting to the Director of Direct Marketing, the Sr. Manager, Direct Marketing will be charged with owning all activities related to direct mail programs. In this new position, the individual will have responsibility for driving customer acquisition within the direct mail channel from campaign development to measurable membership increase. Through successful direct mail campaigns this individual will have a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on this rapidly growing company.RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute key direct mail programs for aimed at increasing customer sign-upsCoordinate direct mail testing and initiatives for internal groups as well as external agencies and vendorsManage and analyze an aggressive and extensive testing program in direct mailMeasure, analyze and report key trends in program performance by tactic, creative, offer and segment/market to maximize subscriber acquisitionDevelop and manage detailed forecasts including program budget & subscriber acquisition projectionsDevelop own insights through independent analysis of data
Communicate actionable recommendations based on insightsBuild strong working relationships with external partnersMaintain a thorough understanding of current USPS regulations and DMA guidelines as they relate to mail
REQUIRMENTS
5 or more years work experience in a direct mail marketing role with premier marketing
consultancy, direct to consumer catalog company, direct response or retail enterprise
Excellent analytic skills coupled with a deep understanding and experience in direct mail including: tactics, lists, creative, offers, segments/markets coupled with a keen desire to understand consumer motivationPrevious success developing and executing large, effective direct to consumer direct mail campaignsExperience in managing large (multi-million household) mail campaigns
Experience in all aspects of direct response marketing from creative development through post campaign analysis
Strong PC skills and proficiency with a variety of software applications including Excel, Power Point and Word, proficiency in SQL, Access, SAS a plusA mind for effectively managing details
The ability to focus on projects to their completion
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
BA required. MBA desirable
