Sales & Marketing Trainee
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Trains to become a sales and marketing representative by offering assistance to sales representatives in completing their daily tasks.
Participates in sales and marketing activities by telephone communications with customers. Coordinates customers' requirements in terms of Company inventories, delivery lead time and standard catalogue part or unit prices. Coordinates delivery dates or specific quotation prices with Sales and Marketing Representatives or Product Management in order to complete sales.
Reviews customer requirements by means of telephone communication. Initiates and performs routine-type assignments in a variety of sales functions.
Initiates minor sales orders with purchasing agents and buyers by reviewing the pricing of various products, components, parts and units.
Reviews inventory system for quantity, prices, prior sales order terms and conditions and reviews customer requirements with supervision.
After supervisory decision, confirms and commits unit price, quantity to be shipped, delivery, packaging and possibly substitution or alternate components in order to meet customer requirements.
Works closely with Sales and Marketing Representatives and Product Management in order to become familiar with Company inventory systems and procedures. Attends meetings with field sales personnel.
Performs diversified clerical duties such as reviewing inventory systems, preparing sales orders, preliminary sales reports or completing internal Company documents or forms.
Required to review various records such as parts catalogues, technical orders, service bulletins and interchangeability data in order to be aware of specific customer requirements and Company procedures.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Skill in:
Reading and understanding written instructions.
Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Performing basic mathematical calculations.
Keyboarding.
Using computers and related software applications.
Understanding and applying guidelines to resolve problems.
Providing customer service.
