Facility Description:
Highland Park Country Club, founded as a private club in 1965, is now a public golf club owned by the City of Highland Park, consists of approximately 130 acres including an 18-hole golf course redesigned by Dick Nugent in 1996. Also available are access to an affiliated 50-station golf learning center, a very large dining and private function component that seats over 500 guests and a 35,000-sq. ft. clubhouse. The clubhouse has been remodeled, and the Park District of Highland Park has opened a 70,000-sq. ft. athletic/recreation addition to the clubhouse with exercise rooms, two gymnasiums, indoor swimming pools and oval running track.
Located on the North Shore of Chicago, the club plays about 25,000 rounds of golf per year supported by heavy group outing business, local-resident play as well as play from other north suburban communities. The Ballroom, East Room and West Room host many golf functions as well as weddings, mitzvahs, corporate events and community gatherings. Although public, the club prospers in a private country club atmosphere, serving a demanding customer population. A new club café and remodeled locker rooms have been completed recently. The facility is located just four miles from the KemperSports Management home office in Highland Park, Illinois.

General Responsibilities:
The Sales and Marketing Director will be responsible for the sales and marketing for all events, outings, banquets and general marketing of the facility.
Specific Responsibilities:
Support the development of the annual event sales business/marketing plan and to insure plans support revenue growth outlined in annual operating budgets.
Develop and implement marketing programs and promotional campaigns to generate outing-, special event-, mitzvah and wedding sales.
Assist course management with the execution of event sales best practices.
Create on property promotional events that will generate sales such as wine tastings, wedding shows, chamber functions, etc.
Support the creation and maintenance of an event-centralized database.
Work with the corporate marketing department or outside agencies to create appropriate and consistent advertising and sales material/messages (branding strategy)
Develop course-networking strategies to identify, develop and maximize relationships with local community and business organizations to include hotels, meeting planners, wedding planners and convention and visitor bureau.
Develop sales presentations and marketing materials for key influencers and end users.
Develop targeted direct mail and e-mail programs to generate awareness, leads and bookings.
Support course management with the training of event managers and coordinators.
Develop and maintain sales reports as required by course management and the Regional Sales & Marketing Director.
Ensure the implementation of the KemperSports Outing Sales & Service Best Practices Guide.
Support revenue management best practices as it relates to maximizing POS reporting, reservation systems, reservation process, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills and Abilities / Selection Criteria:
Comprehensive sales and marketing knowledge and a minimum of three years sales management experience in the hospitality industry
Excellent written, technical and verbal communications skills
Bachelors Degree (marketing a plus), preferred but not required
