Public Affairs Manager

Public Affairs Manager is involved in developing, implementing and supervising community, governmental and media relations programs for large infrastructure studies and projects. These may range from roads, tunnels, transit systems and water and sewer improvements to residential, retail and commercial ventures.

This person must be:

"Flexible to adapt plans and budgets to changing conditions
"Experienced in interacting with public officials, community-based organizations, business interests, other opinion leaders and news media
"Practiced in planning and conducting public meetings and briefings for public officials and news reporters
"Knowledgeable of how county and local governments function in South Florida
"Proficient in developing products ranging from brochures, newsletters, video scripts, website content and e-flyers, and able to work with graphic artists to visualize these things
"Capable of supervising others
REQUIREMENTS
Position requirements:
"Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism or a closely related field
"Five years of professional public relations experience with an emphasis on community and media relations
"Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing public relations plans and budgets
"Excellent English-language written and verbal skills
"Superior references
"Conversational Spanish
