SUMMARY OF ROLE – Product Marketing Assistant

Support the marketing group by managing and tracking procurement, manufacturing and inventory activities as they relate to packaging/labeling/merchandise reorders, transitions and introductions. Manages bill of material for all product lines and responsible for ensuring seamless transition of new packaging materials and collateral materials. Position interfaces regularly with Discus Dental marketing team, purchasing representatives and manufacturing operations personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate and manage product inventory activities to include sku management as it relates to new product introductions, discontinued products and new/revised packaging transitions.
• Manage the internal documentation process of product revisions by creating, coordinating and routing all document change orders and related forms through the approval process to ensure timely and consistent execution of marketing plans. This requires effective communication and interaction with regulatory affairs department, legal department, sales management, operations/distribution departments and marketing department team members on a daily basis.
• Create and revise Bill of Materials as necessary
• Responsible for activating new products and packaging into the organization’s inventory management system by assigning new part numbers and unit forecasts based on input from respective marketing teams.
• Coordinates new purchases and reorders of new or existing marketing collateral materials and packaging by working closely with marketing department, operations/distribution departments, in-house graphics department and purchasing department.
• Serve as document traffic coordinator by managing the circulation of all operations/inventory materials for required approvals throughout the organization.
• Assist marketing personnel on an ad hoc basis for specific marketing programs where additional short term assistance is required. Activities may include coordinating talent for photoshoots, obtaining product samples and other.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Four year college or university program certificate; and 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Marketing degree, business degree or comparable experience required. This is an entry level position.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (must haves)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain detail orientation in fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
