Product Manager, Music Creation
We are seeking a high-energy person to join Digidesign's Pro Tools Product Marketing Team. This Product Manager's primary responsibility will be to define and execute Digidesign's product plans for the music creation market, with focus on MIDI, synthesis and sampling software features. This person will then guide cross-functional teams to successfully deliver on these plans.The successful candidate will also be responsible for synthesizing customer needs, market and technology trends, competitive intelligence and knowledge of our internal capabilities into cohesive and profitable product strategies for these market areas, both in terms of high-level strategic roadmaps, and detailed technical product specifications. It requires driving the organization in pursuit of the target markets and ensuring that Digidesign's product and marketing strategies are defined for optimal success.Experience
This self-motivated individual should have the following:
Expert-level knowledge of music creation workflows, including MIDI sequencing, loop-based arranging, sampling and synthesis
A good understanding of the principles underlying MIDI, synthesis and sampling technology
Experience with configuring MIDI hardware and software systems on either Mac or PC (preferably both)
A deep and current understanding of the related audio markets
Familiarity with some or all of the ?best-in-class? sequencing and loop arranging solutions, such as Ableton Live, Sony Acid, Cakewalk Sonar, Apple Logic, Steinberg Cubase, MOTU Digital Performer, as well as a general knowledge of popular software-based samplers, synths, keyboards, etc. such as those from IK Multimedia, Native Instruments, and Spectrasonics
Familiarity with Pro Tools HD and LE products on both Mac and PC platforms
Product management experience in a software development environmentThe ideal candidate should also:
Have an understanding of the scoring market and tools such as Sibelius and MakeMusic Finale
Be proficient on one or more instruments
Have experience with moving MIDI projects between applications and related issuesSkills

Bachelor degree in Music, Audio Engineering, or other relevant field is an advantage but not required.Location
This position is based at Digidesign's headquarters in Daly City, CA. * Minimal travel (usually 1-2 weeks/quarter).
