Product Management
Wells is a leading full-line manufacturer/marketer of engine management/ignition control components. Our sensors and ignition control components provide critical information to the engine's computer to insure continued engine performance to the manufacturer’s specifications. We have been providing quality auto parts to the North American aftermarket since 1903. Today we provide over 30,000 SKU’s to the professional mechanic, automotive home mechanic, and select OE customers. Due to our continued growth, our marketing services group is seeking an additional Product Support Manager.
Our product support staff is assigned to specific product categories of our overall product line. Using market data, customer retail data, vehicle registration data etc. you will develop category recommendations to achieve maximum sales volume targets and profitability in our aftermarket channels.
Job activities include determining if additional category SKU’s are needed based on parts used on new model year vehicles, category competitive pricing strategy, product development strategy (make vs. buy product), and product/market research on your product category for overall category/industry trends, as well as research on competitor’s product, pricing and application coverage for assigned categories.
Our product support staff work closely with purchasing and engineering on make vs. buy decisions as well as influencing effective buying activities on the part of purchasing. The position is a unique opportunity for an experienced analyst to be able to add product management activities to his/her experience or an experienced product manager who has worked with application parts to move into a lead role within our marketing services team.
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position you will need to bring the following to the job:
•An appropriate 2-degree with significant analyst and/or product management experience or an appropriate 4-year degree with analyst or product management job experience. A 4-year degree is preferred.
•Experience in data analysis using syndicated data, proprietary data and/or customer supplied data. Your experience should include the type of analyst activities outlined above for durable goods or consumer products being sold in the North American market.
•Demonstrated successful experience with data analysis in a marketing role. You do not need knowledge of engine management/ignition control products but should have the ability to work with product that has very specific technical requirements.
•Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point. Access experience preferred but will provide training.
•Effective organization and coordination skills in a team environment.
•Ability to develop presentation skills that include the use and development of Power Point presentations in small group meetings.
