Produce Specialist

Perform all functions relating to ordering and selling of Produce, inventory control, ensures maintenance of stock room, back room and floor. Assist Team Leader in overall department operation. Provides up-to-date, knowledgeable and courteous customer service. 1. Perform all duties and responsibilities of Produce Team Member 2. Provide excellent customer service. 3. Monitor and prevent spoilage. 4. PLU file maintenance. 5. Communicate pertinent product information to team. 6. Maintain adequate inventory to maximize sales. 7. Review the competition and do comp shops on a regular basis. 8. Purchase product for department. 9. Process invoices in a timely manner accurately. 10. Rectify and review purchase journal. 11. Participate in monthly inventory. 12. Request signs, place signs, ensure quality and accuracy with department. 13. Maintain excellent communication with CDC. 14. Read regional memos. 15. Comply with all applicable State of California Health and Safety Codes. 16. Perform other duties, as assigned. 17. Support team and Team Leader.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum 2 years experience as Produce Clerk 2 level or equivalent. 2. Analytical ability and proficiency in math needed to calculate GPM, monitor profitability and manage inventory. 3. Comprehensive knowledge of growing processes and growing methods. 4. Stay current with all market conditions and information. 5. Excellent communication skills. 6. Excel proficiency a plus.
