Print / Web Designer - Contract

Eplica Inc. is seeking a full-time Print / Web Designer to join our San Diego based Marketing-Communications team on a contract basis for four months (mid-September to early 2007).

The position has the potential for on-going project (contract) work on an as-needed basis beyond the initial contract period.

The ideal candidate must be experienced in all aspects of print and web design including identity, collateral, web site development & online presence, advertising, signage, promotional items and exhibit display.

The role requires someone able to manage all aspects of their own projects (concept to production) on all levels and see them through to completion.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in both web and traditional print media and be able to manage multiple projects in a deadline sensitive environment. The ability to partner with internal and external partners is essential to accomplishing the goals of this role. We’re looking for a positive team player with strong time-management skills.

Responsibilities include:
·Design and production of a wide array of print and web marketing materials
·Ability to meet with internal and external partners and translate strategic / product needs into creative solutions in print and online applications
·Direct creative input into new website creation, ongoing development / graphic support of online presence on multiple websites in addition to e-newsletter creation.
·Working understanding of brand development and execution, development of design briefs to clarify design direction
·Able to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload in a deadline sensitive environment
·Must see all projects through to completion and be able to effectively manage vendor relations

Qualifications:
·Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, advertising or other related field.
·5+ years experience in print and with a minimum of 3 years web design
·Attention to detail and ability to translate direction into creative solutions
·Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and produce quality materials in a short amount of time
·Must have a thorough understanding of printing process and have experience managing vendor relations
·Working understanding of effective website design principles and online promotions, proficiency in html coding and flash applications, track record of partnering with web developers and IT to create and launch effective websites and online promotional messaging

Computer Skills:
·QuarkXpress, InDesign, Illustrator CS, Photoshop CS, and Adobe Acrobat / Acrobat Distiller
·Macromedia Flash, DreamWeaver
·Proficient in full Adobe Suite and Macromedia line of products with emphasis on Flash, hand coding ASP, HTML, and CSS.
·Familiarity with .NET technologies for us in Web desirable.
