Mixing Console & Digital I/O Product Mgr.

We seek an experienced Product Manager to specify and oversee development of mixing consoles, control surfaces and digital audio interfaces, as well as conduct market analysis and business development activities associated with these products.The successful candidate will bring an in-depth knowledge of the latest professional mixing consoles and control surfaces, such as Digidesign's Icon series, as well as the product development experience necessary to evaluate best-in-class feature sets, gather and analyze competitive data and optimize business opportunities.Four or more years of pro audio product management experience is preferred.This position demands familiarity with a variety of digital and analog recording equipment, as well as experience in the film and video post arenas. Proficiency with sound for picture and post workflows is necessary. Broadcast audio fluency is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create technical audio performance specifications are essential. In addition, candidates must possess superior organizational and time management skills and be capable of managing multiple priorities and achieving results in a cross-functional environment.Job Responsibilities:
1)Work in a cross-functional team with engineering, program management, sales and marketing-communications throughout the product development cycle
2)Evaluate competitor offerings as well as new technologies in order to make feature recommendations and future product proposals
3)Collect customer and channel partner requirements for future products
4)Manage consensus and resulting requirements documentation to define a product's specifications
5)Manage tradeoffs involving features, schedule, cost, pricing, positioning, and lifecycle management
6)Make pricing and forecasting recommendations to management and cross-functional teams
7)Communicate and position the product in relation to other products and the competitionEssential Requirements:
1)History designing/developing large format consoles or control surfaces
2)4+ years of pro audio product management or development experience
3)Fluent in product management process: requirements documentation, etc.
4)In-depth digital audio conversion, I/O interface, and as film/video sync issuesExtras:
1)Experience with Digidesign's Icon range of control surfaces and the Pro Tools recording environment
2)BA/BS (or equivalent) in music or a technical field; an MBA is a plus
3)Music or pro audio retail experience
4)Business skills required to generate and evaluate gross margin and return-on-investment worksheets
