Marketing Director-Brand & Marketing-Small Business Banking
The Marketing Director for Brand & Marketing/Sales Programs will be responsible for overseeing Small Business Acquisition, Customer Management, Field Marketing and Brand and Advertising functions. This individual will:
-Evaluate and develop new acquisition and growth strategies for attracting new customers within Small Business Banking
-Deliver creative, out-of-the-box strategies that leverage marketing programs and field sales force capabilities to deliver highly profitable cross-sell and customer retention programs.
-Ensure analysis drives appropriate program investment decisions and marketing plan activities.
-Evaluate customer profitability and develop new programs to deepen relationship and retain more customers and deliver profitable business growth of the customer base.
-Develop comprehensive business cases for all customer focused marketing programs, detailing strategies, financial return and execution plan.
-Explore, test and implement non-traditional methods of retaining and deepening customer relationships.
-Partner with the Sales to understand customer needs, competitive climate and field staff needs and implement strategies accordingly.
-Partner with Product Management to create strong value propositions and product offers that will drive significant customer cross-sell and retention of customers.
-Partner with Consumer Marketing to align Small Business retention & cross-sell programs to leverage Retail marketing campaigns.
-Manage a professional team of marketing and customer management specialists to work closely with other functions (Marketing Program Execution, Product Management, Sales and Retail Marketing) to deliver against targets.
-Coach and develop team to excel in their positions and develop their skill base.
-Manage the evolution of SBB positioning underneath the new Chase Brand
-Management of Retail Marketing Central Utility relationship - specifically, Advertising, Merchandising, DM/Statement, Collateral contacts
-Participation in Business Case review process to ensure - and understand - how proposed strategies are in alignment with overall SBB marketing strategy as well as concurrent marketing activities and timelines.
-Provide oversight of creative brief development for all programs to ensure Business Case strategy as well as SBB voice is represented accurately and will translate into appropriate creative
-Review of all concepts and copy prior to review by Marketing and other Business Executives
-Ensure media is planned and executed efficiently and in alignment with our business objectives.
-Serve as Marketing Communications SME in development of new Acquisition/Expansion strategies in participation with Segment Managers and/or Marketing Executive
-Position Field Marketing as the main conduit between assigned market(s) and Marketing and Sales Support.
-Influence the development of National programs and maximize their effectiveness at the local level through Field -Marketing and Events team execution. REQUIREMENTS
-15 + years of marketing experience with a proven track record in developing effective marketing and sales cross-sell and customer retention programs as well as knowledge of the advertising industry including creative process and media disciplines. Knowledge of small business market is preferred. Knowledge and/or experience in Financial Services preferred
-BA required, MBA preferred
-Understanding of retail distribution including branch, telephone and online channels. Must have a branch and sales orientation and understanding of the branch business system.
-Creative, "out of the box" thinker. Track record of "break out" campaigns and successful business results.
-Focus on growing the business franchise, with a focus on execution and delivering business results. Understanding of the impact of acquisition on P&L and business performance.
-Skilled at establishing and maintaining strong working relationships across the organization. Able to effectively navigate an organization without clear lines of demarcation. Critical to partner well with Marketing, Product -Management, Sales and Retail Marketing in order to develop and deliver strong campaigns.
-Experience in managing others. A mentor and coach; able to attract, retain and motivate a high performing team
-Strong leadership skills.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
